HOST FAMILY PROVIDER
Part of the (Host) Family
The Host Family provides an accommodation option for adults with developmental support needs who, for a variety of reasons, cannot or choose not to live with their family. The Host Family Provider program is designed to enable a person to live as an integral member of an alternative family setting and is supported by an approved Host Family. Wherever possible, the person’s relationship with his/her natural family is encouraged and supported by the program.
The program takes a person-centered approach to provide support and services that allow for the attainment of meaningful outcomes. All placements are monitored and supervised by designated CLH DSS staff to ensure the needs of the person are met. The Host Family Provider receives orientation and on-going training and support from CLH DSS.
